Configuring: Timestamps

Select the timestamp field/s to be filtered. The resulting dataset will only contain the rows of data with timestamps that fall within the limits specified.

Steps to configure

  1. Select field: Select from available fields for filtering.

  2. Limit types: Choose the limit to be applied to the selected fields.

  3. Limit values: Set the specific limits for each field.

  4. Execute: A new dataset is created, containing the filtered rows of data.

Step 1: Select fields

Select the fields from the Available window to which timestamp limits will be applied.

  • Only the timestamp fields will be available for selection.

  • Default: all timestamp fields are listed in the available column.

  • Minimum configuration: at least one field has to be selected.

Step 2: Limit types

Assign upper, lower or both types of limit to the selected field/s.

  • Highlight the field and select [Lower], [Upper] or [Both] limits to be applied.

  • You can assign a default lower and/or upper limit to all the fields if you want a common limit set for all fields. This saves time when applying common limits to many fields. Specific fields can then be edited individually in the next step.
NOTE: Changing the default lower or upper limits will only replace values for fields that have NOT been edited before. Once a limit value has been set manually, changing the defaults will not override and replace your own assigned value. This also applies when reconfiguring this operation after a previous execution - changing the default values will not override previously configured manually entered values either. The default limit values will then only apply to newly added timestamp fields.

  • If you assign a default lower and upper value, the lower limit can never be greater than the upper limit, and conversely the upper limit can never be lower than the lower limit. If these conditions are breached, the [next] button will be disabled.

  • Default settings: no limits are assigned.

  • Minimum configuration: at least one type of limit has to be assigned to each of the fields.

Step 3: Limit values

Specify the desired limits for each selected field.

  • Lower limits can never be greater than the upper limits, and the upper limit can never be lower than the lower limit.

  • If the lower limit is greater than the upper limit, the next button will be disabled and the field will be highlighted in red.

  • Default: if you did not assigned a default lower or upper limit, the default values will be the field’s minimum and maximum values. If you assigned default limits, all the field limits will be assigned to the default.

Step 4: Execute

A new dataset will be created, containing only the selected filtered timestamp rows of data.
